A base line study was made in Challakere block of Chitrdurga taluk covering five villages having 50% tribal population to formulate tribal livelihood development plans. The participatory study based on PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) proposed different watershed structures, establishment of food and forestry crops and IGA training covering 852 families. The study was funded by NABARD for project formulation.
