Kudachi MLA Sri P. Rajiv visit Kudachi MLA Sri P.Rajiv participated in sustainable sugarcane field day held at Savitri Anneshappa Wali’s farm of Handigunda village, Raybag taluk, Belagavi district on 15th April 2016. He has appreciated IDF’s efforts to uplift farmer’s livelihood through Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana. Also expressed desire to extend his support to continue this work to entire taluk. Joint Director of Agriculture, Sri Venkataramareddi J. Patil, Belagavi and other officials, ZP, TP and GP members were also present.
Food Processing, Training and Incubation Center, Belagavi IDF established this resource center in the year 2015. The center trains the first generation entrepreneurs in food processing and also provides incubation facility to ground their products to women members of the SHGs in North Karnataka. The incubation center provides space, infrastructure for food processing, packaging and marketing enabling the trained neo entrepreneurs to build confidence and a platform to launch their products. Five Mahila kisans were interviewed by Radio Siddartha, Tumkur on 11th December 2015 Soubhagya, Prameela, Vatsala, Deveeramma and Mamata were the Mahila kisans who shared their experiences and success of sustainable agricultural practices benefitting them financially.
NABARD has supported IDF in the “Save the Farmers” Campaign. It has sanctioned under its CAT programme to arrange for exposure visits to selected 40 farmers who are opinion makers-cum-counsellors in the farming community to visit successful community led initiatives in the amelioration of risks in farming. We will be facilitating 20 such community leaders each from Kunigal and Gubbi Federation to take up this exposure visit for three days each. We anticipate that these exposure will build their vision to effectively provide de-risking services to the farming community through their federation. NABARD sanction is Rs 62,500/- each for Kunigal and Gubbi taluk. Rest of the cost will be met […]
The workshop on Financial Management for vulnerable farmers was held by Prasara Bharathi through AIR Mysore on 15.02.16 as part of Radio Kisan Diwas. Smt Sowbhagyamma from Hosakere village of Gubbi and a beneficiary of MKSP was the key speaker and she spoke about how she overcame the vulnerability shifting to sustainable Livelihoods, prudential financial management and spoke about Save the Farmers campaign. She shared her experiences on use of family development plans. It attracted a lot of attention especially on sustainable dairy integrated in farming.
